Studio Equipment

Every component has been selected for broadcast and post-production quality. The result is a consistent, clean sound that requires minimal processing in your edit.

Microphone

Neumann U87 Ai

The industry benchmark for voice over and broadcast. Large-diaphragm condenser with cardioid pattern, delivering a warm, detailed and consistent tone.

Vocal Booth

Desone custom vocal booth

A purpose-built, professionally treated booth eliminating room reflections and external noise — giving you a dead, dry signal ready for any post-production environment.

Monitoring

Genelec 8430A

SAM (Smart Active Monitoring) studio monitors calibrated to the room, ensuring accurate playback and reliable quality control on every take.

Console / Interface

DHD RX2 (Dante)

Professional broadcast mixing console with Dante audio-over-IP networking — enabling low-latency remote monitoring and integration with IP codec connections.

IP Codec

AVT MAGIC TH2plus

High-quality IP codec for real-time audio transmission to broadcast studios, remote producers and post-production facilities worldwide.

Codec 2

Mayah Centauri

Secondary IP codec for redundancy and compatibility with studios using different codec standards. Supports a wide range of audio codecs and protocols.

Remote Recording & Direction Options

Direct the session from your office, your studio or anywhere in the world. All connection options deliver broadcast-quality audio in real time.

SessionLink Pro

Browser-based, zero-install remote direction. You hear the studio in real time, communicate via talkback and provide direction just as you would in the room. No software required on your end.

Source-Connect

Industry-standard peer-to-peer audio connection widely used in commercial and broadcast production. Supports lossless audio transmission at full studio quality with very low latency.

IP Codec

Direct connection via AVT MAGIC TH2plus or Mayah Centauri for broadcast studios and post-production houses requiring a hardware codec link with guaranteed audio quality.

Teams / Zoom

Available for light-touch direction, feedback and communication during the session. Audio quality over VOIP is not broadcast grade, but is sufficient for directing and approving takes in real time.

Phone Direction

Simple phone call for direction when no internet connection is available. Finished files are delivered digitally after the session regardless of the direction method used.

How Remote Direction Works

Remote direction is now the standard workflow for most international voice over projects, and the studio is fully set up to make the experience seamless — whether you are a first-time remote client or an experienced broadcast producer.

The preferred method for most clients is SessionLink Pro. You receive a simple browser link before the session. No software installation is required. Once connected, you hear the studio feed live — including room presence, headphone mix and talkback — just as if you were sitting in a control room. You can speak directly to the voice artist between takes, request adjustments to pace or tone, and sign off on the final take before the session ends.

For broadcast studios and post-production houses, a direct IP codec connection via AVT MAGIC TH2plus or Mayah Centauri provides a stable, low-latency audio link at full broadcast quality. This is the preferred option for live radio recording and time-critical broadcast sessions.

Source-Connect is available for producers working within the Source-Connect ecosystem — common in US and UK commercial production workflows.

The studio operates in the Central European timezone (CET, UTC+1; CEST, UTC+2 in summer). Sessions can be booked from early morning through to early evening CET. Clients in North America typically find mid-morning their time (afternoon CET) the most convenient overlap window. Clients in Australia and Asia can book early morning CET sessions.

You do not need any special equipment for remote direction via SessionLink Pro — just a stable internet connection, a browser and headphones. For IP codec connections, your facility's codec hardware or software is required at your end.

After the session, all approved files are delivered digitally within the agreed timeframe, clearly labelled and in the requested formats.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need for remote direction?
For direction via SessionLink Pro: just a modern web browser (Chrome/Firefox), headphones and a stable internet connection. No software installation needed. For Source-Connect: Source-Connect Standard or Pro at your end. For IP codec: compatible hardware at your facility. We will confirm the best option when you book.
Can you match the sound of our existing recordings?
Yes, in most cases. Send a reference file and we will match the tone, pace and processing chain as closely as possible. For exact EQ matching, we may ask your post-production team to share their processing settings. The dry, clean signal from the Neumann U87 in the Desone booth provides an excellent starting point for any matching work.
What sample rates and bit depths do you record at?
Default recording is 48 kHz / 24-bit, which covers broadcast, online and most post-production requirements. 44.1 kHz is available for music or specific application requirements. Telephony and IVR delivery formats (e.g. 8 kHz / 16-bit mono) are prepared in post after the recording session. Any specification your system requires can be accommodated.
Do you have ISDN?
ISDN has been phased out in Germany and is no longer available. IP codec connections (AVT MAGIC TH2plus, Mayah Centauri) provide the same functionality at higher quality and are now the broadcast-standard replacement for ISDN in Germany. Most broadcast studios have already migrated to IP-based codec technology.
Where is the studio located?
The studio is in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany — approximately 70 km west of Munich. The timezone is CET (UTC+1) in winter and CEST (UTC+2) in summer. In-person sessions are welcome for clients in the region. International clients connect remotely via SessionLink Pro, Source-Connect or IP codec.
