  • Mitel / Aastra

Audio Format Guide

  • Traditional telephony (PSTN): WAV 8kHz/16bit mono — the standard for most legacy PBX hardware
  • IP telephony (VoIP): WAV 16kHz/16bit or 48kHz/24bit — better quality for modern systems
  • On-hold audio: MP3 128kbps or higher, or WAV 44.1kHz/16bit
  • FRITZ!Box: WAV 8kHz/16bit mono (G.711)
  • 3CX / Sipgate / Placetel: WAV 16kHz/16bit

Not sure what your system needs? Mention the PBX platform when enquiring and the right format will be confirmed.

No Script? No Problem.

If you don't have finished IVR scripts, just send your requirements: company name, departments, opening hours, services offered and preferred tone. Andreas will write draft prompt texts based on this information.

Script writing is included in the project price for complete IVR packages. For individual prompt updates, a brief description of what you need is usually enough to get started.

German IVR copy needs to sound natural when spoken — not like a typed message. Having the recording artist write or review the scripts means the result sounds right the first time.

Transparent Pricing

IVR voice over pricing depends on the number of prompts, script length and any additional services such as script writing. Individual prompts, small sets and complete IVR systems are all available — check the full pricing guide for details.

All invoices are issued by BrennerMedien GmbH (GmbH invoice, EU VAT compliant).

Frequently Asked Questions

What audio format for IVR?
For traditional telephony, WAV 8kHz/16bit mono is the standard format for most PBX systems. For IP telephony and modern systems (3CX, Sipgate, Placetel), WAV 16kHz or 48kHz/16bit is better quality. For on-hold audio, MP3 128kbps or higher is often preferred. Just specify your system when enquiring and the correct format will be confirmed — no extra charge for format conversion.
Can you record a complete IVR system?
Yes. Full IVR system packages are available — welcome greeting, menu options, on-hold message, out-of-hours message, voicemail prompt, queue announcements. Send the full prompt list and a package price will be quoted. Package rates apply from around 10 prompts upward.
Do you write the scripts?
Yes. If you don't have finished scripts, send your requirements — opening hours, departments, services offered, tone preference — and Andreas will draft the prompt texts. Script writing is included in the project price for complete IVR packages.
How long does delivery take?
Single prompts and small sets are typically delivered within 24 hours of the approved script. Complete IVR systems (20+ prompts) are usually delivered within 2 business days. Rush delivery is available on request — please mention it when enquiring.
Can I get updates later?
Yes. If your opening hours change, you add a department or need a seasonal greeting, individual prompts can be re-recorded quickly. Many clients return for updates regularly — and because it's always the same artist, the voice stays consistent throughout.
